Looking back for World Qualifier!

Here are the looking back for today's tournament! I can't remember everything so I'm just gonna write the memorable moments =)

Round 1 Vs Lightlords XX

Ok so I got raped for this match. Totally cannot hit through with so many Threatening Roars and Necro Guardna. And maybe I haven't wake up, never side my Royal Decree and Dust Tornadoes. Next round, got raped by 3 Judgement. GG

Round 2 Vs Counter Fairies XOO

At first I thought what deck it was since he set so many cards. Lost the first round due to Malicious Edge. I only had 63 lifepoints left after some crazy solemn here and there. Won the second with rush, and won the third due to time out!

Round 3 Vs Cosmos Emperor(?) OO

Victory Viper with Honest hit into Gaius and ram with the token =D Used Solemn Judgement and Viper effect to clear 2 Cosmos!

Round 4 Vs Gadgets OO

Won the second round by hitting Wildman using Viper with 3 Honest and a Limiter =)

Round 5 Vs Lightlords OO

More lightlords! Won the final round by using Viper and 2 honest on Cherubim =)

Round 1 Vs Lightlords XOO

Due to some noobish mistake, I forgot open my oppression again and died from crazy dog rush. I had critter and Shine Angel on the next round. Decided to just go for it suiciding everything and did the Honest Viper Combo and managed to cripple him from using Judgement.

Round 2 Vs Dark Armed O-

One of the more exciting match. Thought I was gonna lose after opening 2 Solemn on Heavy Storm and Gaius. Stayed at 1850 lifepoints for quite sometime since Rivalry of Warlords locked him quite abit. A few times he tried to summon MOBC, Gaius, Dark Armed but couldn't since he had a Necro Guardna there which I can't clear anyway. My only attacking monster was a Sangan! So after awhile some actions happened and more Honest Viper! (yeah I know, it's getting boring that I do the same thing over again) Then Time was called and since I won the first round, I just got the win. Lucky! =)

Round 3 Vs Lightlord OXO

Yet another Lightlords! I thought I had the best hand in the whole world lol. A set Shine Angel, my hand had Cyclone, 2 Honest and a Limiter. But well, things never go smoothly. He activated Card Destruction WTF! So Luckily I managed to win back with all the traps. The third round was quite exciting, but I guess luck is on my side today. My hand was Cyber Dragon and 3 Honest. I just summon and raped Mr Lightlord Warrior Garos.

Round 4 Vs Lighlord Undead(?) OO

Ah finally the finals! Thought I could do an OTK since my hand was Honest, Viper and Limiter and he had a Gaius! That could be a 7200 token! But yes things just don't go as planned. He used Solemn on my Limiter and I couldn't use my Honest. Second round I rushed with 2 Calling Nova on his Gaius, one of them got Imprison-ed and I used Enemy Controller to take the Gaius! He Solemn so I open my own Solemn and yes guys!!!!

I'm just gonna cover on a few cards since most of the cards are mostly not so awesome.

Black Knight of the Dark Dragon is pretty decent, it is 1900 which is the most important, and "stealing" opponent monsters is overpowered, remember Goyou Guardian? The great thing about this card, it can probably summon ANYTHING that was previously destroyed by battle, so yeah you can probably steal that disk guy that you kill 3 turns ago or something. And then your opponent retardedly kill it by battle and you steal it again or something like that.
I'm using the logic of Hero City here.

Trap card is super powerful effect, best card to be put in your side deck for the current meta or to combat retarded decks that uses Cosmos engine. And also, just imagine chaining it to opponent's Allure of Darkness, Dimension Imprisonment, Dark Emperor etc. Remember to point and laugh =)

Next up is the field card which is the main topic! The reason why you should buy 3 of the SD! Turning everything into undead turns some cards from powerful, to some crazy scale that I cannot even describe when you get that perfect hand.

Some examples:

Zombie Master

This card simply goes into overdrive with Undead World in play. With access to your opponent grave now, you can basically just summon all sorts of things. I leave it to your imagination and the metagame around you on what you can summon.

Mezuki

Another crazy card that goes into overdrive. Now able to summon MOBC and friends and other crazy monsters that you don't even dream of summoning. Too bad this is not in the deck (or should I say lucky this is not in the deck)

Card of Safe Return

Drawing cards for doing nothing. Imbalanced!?

Inspirational Stuff from Rowyn-san (ローウィンさん) can be found below. A well known Japanese player dedicated to playing Undead decks known as Biohazard.

Crazy Combo 1 (Infinite loop!?): Mezuki + MOBC + Burial from another dimension

Mezuki summon MOBC and take back Burial from another Dimension. When MOBC dies, use Burial to put Mezuki and MOBC (and something else) into grave. Repeat.

I'm just gonna stop right here before ppl start getting high just from all this crazy stuff I typed above. Is it really that powerful? yeah maybe, but at the same time its also a double edged sword. What if opponent manage to grab your Zombie Master, all hell will break loose for you too =/ or worse still, mirror matches. Who paste Field card first and dont kill the opponent might just get himself killed lol.

Light mad rush with crazy combo??? (Patented by DS)

Well, havent been posting for awhile since Baha stole the limelight with the HOLEY card. Anywayz, finally gonna post my previous deck up here, as usual, here it is....

Yup, this was the deck you guys saw me with previously. Well, not the exact tune I believe since I didnt record it down, but this would be about 95% accurate. Just a few ideas on the choice of cards and combos...

Victory Viper XX03 + Honest / Limit break!
Well, this is a pretty nice combo here, and quite the main start off point for this deck actually. It basically functions on the effect where the viper will 'give birth' to a token the exact size as it when it kills an opponent monster in battle. So example, when you use the viper to attack a monarch and you use a honest to pump it up, it basically creates a token that is 1200 + 2400 attack! Do note that the token will be permanent 'attached' to the viper though. If the viper dies or gets smaller, so does the token. Well, largest my token ever got to was 13200 attack, go figure, heh.

Exodios + Calculator + Enemy Controller!!!
Well, not much to be said for the first 2 parts of the combo. Exodios + calculator makes calculator a big happy 3600. The more interesting part of the combo here will be exodios and the controller. And of course, this combo here mainly works with having the lightlord wolf in the deck. When Exodios DECLARES attack, exodios will discard a card from the deck to grave. Of course, if you discard wolf, the wolf's own effect will kick in and get summoned out!

The interesting part comes in here. After the wolf appears, it is not in damage step yet, since its only at the declare attack stage. So you can actually do cool stuff, like sacrifice the wolf for enemy controller to take over the opponent's monster (The one exodios declared to attack). Then, since the opponent's monster disappears, exodios loses target and has to retarget, and DECLARE attack AGAIN. You see where this leads to? Another wolf then gets summoned out when he redeclares, and it goes on. (Note, as per title, this is a new combo created, used, and patented by me. Never used before in anyway and uninspired by anyone! Not that anyone uses exodios anyway)

Record so far would be probably 3 times for the above combo. Exodios declares attack on spirit reaper, wolf gets summoned. Use enemy controller target reaper, it dies and lose target. Exodios redeclare attack, wolf gets summoned, opponent opens up return from DD. Therefore, redeclare attack, exodios on a defense mode diabolic guy, eat 800 dmg, another wolf appears. Meanwhile calculator having fun standing by, wolf clears the 3 monsters opp had, calculator is a nice cute 24 * 300 = 7200. Kinda small huh? Exodios works well for wolf as well, since whatever wolf in the grave gets returned to deck when the exodios is summoned. (By the way, for the count, biggest exodios so far is at 9300. *Summon cydra, summon exodios, use lightning vortex and discard monster, summon exodios, summon calculator, brain control opp monster. Quite cool huh?*

Anywayz, this is a crazy light otk deck. Which works out suprisingly well, since it has high synergy within the deck. Even without the combos, the T45 can help pump calculators. Honest does good to all light monsters in deck. Heck, even a summon cydra, summon calculator, summon guardian is cool. 2100 + 4500 + 2500 atk power on field is fun ok! But yup, in my opinion its still a fun deck. Its extremely fun and fast, but as usual to my decks, prone to its weird draws... (3 wolf in first hand aint fun... sob.... Casino De' Baha, I hate you!)

Duel Online!

Hi guys! Today I'm gonna introduce to you all a software that I use to play online. It's called Duel Online (aka DO). These is the program that is used for the tournaments that are held in Japan, Eg: mh Cup, some Frontier Cups etc

The card list is constantly updated, namely from spoilers that are 100% accurate. And that is why we have Zombie Carrier in one of the decks. I put this up because I'm looking for players to play with me. Colin is not always free so I need new opponents =D

The software also can aid you in your deck building, and you can test your deck with other players before buying the actual cards!

I know it's just like YVD, Apprentice, or whatever you guys use to play online. It's basically the same thing, everything has to be done manually. Plus it's in Japanese so I'm not sure if anyone is interested lol.

Oh btw mike, I used this to try your Dark Simorgh deck and I got this on one of the duels.

[Card Review] Armshole Part 2!?

Previous post can be found here

So here comes part 2. The purpose of this random articles are just to tell you that you don't need an expensive card to totally own the whole world.

Side track: Ironically, you can't even use Armshole for world tourneys so it's just lol.

So how should I begin?

Ok let's start by the drawback. Not able to normal summon this turn will probably leave you open for the rest of the turn unless your deck packs really a lot of defensive traps. In this metagame where fast damage are thrown everywhere like it's free, leaving yourself open for just a turn can just be the death of you.

Just imagine this scenario. You are setting up for a nice draw combo with Knight of the End and Disk Guy. On your opponent's turn, he used Gaius and made life difficult for you. Now your hand is abit shitty and have no choice but to use Armshole and try to dig for some solution. Suddenly you got hit by a DD Crow/Dust Tornado/Insert some cool card here. And now you are open and you probably will not reach your next turn =/

People who splash this cards into their regular Dark decks are just stupid. And the crazy MOBC/DDR loop are not so hot these few days when people learnt how to counter them. The only strong use of this card is only special decks such as OTK decks (there are too many to list) where you don't rely on normal summons to get the job done.

For my synchro deck that uses Rescue Cat alot, Armshole cannot be left out. First turn you summon a Brionac and you already have the field control done. And it doesn't even matter if it dies or not, you activate Armshole to grab a Premature Burial on your next turn and it's an infinite loop already. But this is the flaw of the deck, if your Armshole fail, then the whole combo collapses and you might just get crippled and it is very hard to recover. And that is probably why the 2nd place deck owned the 3rd place. One Solemn Judgement/Thunder Break owned the whole deck.

Depending on your deck, Armshole can vary from being a shitty card to some crazy imbalance card. You build your deck around Armshole, not buy an Armshole just because you think your deck needs it. So what deck do you play?

Guide on buying Armshole:
1) Do you have intentions of ever forming an OTK deck?
2) Do you intend to form a deck where you feel you can safely lead the field and no fear of taking too much LP damage?
3) Are you simply filthy rich?

If you answer yes to all the above, then what the hell are you waiting for? Come join the Armshole Club!



Otherwise, spend your money elsewhere.

Honest Confession: I used to think Armshole was just an OK card! Getting owned by people who have all the gay luck in the world with their 3 LADD! I've had enough of their nonsense! And thus EMObc was BORN! (Colin, I hate you)

Funny story, I was just owned by LADD in the tournament, So I was all pissy and go out to look for cards, and there it was, $15 Armshole. It's a sign!!!!! btw this was a year ago, during the JJ Christmas tourney or something.
