Its February!

Which means its banlist speculation time!

I kinda enjoyed the first half of this format even though it was filled with mostly Windups. There were many players who didn't know wtf they were doing and feeds +10 to Maxx C so it wasn't that bad.

Sep - Windups everywhere
Oct/Nov - Mermails everywhere
Dec - Verz everywhere
Jan - Firefist everywhere
Feb - play whatever you want cos banlist is coming lol

That is basically what happened in Singapore for this format

Some of the unhealthy things that is going on would be Mermails and Windups where they just do their own stuff and people die. At least Firefist and Verz is somewhat interactive. But honestly, I don't mind another format with the same cards.

Windups

Hit the Magician. It's the thing that is giving you mad plusses. Magician Shark is plus 1. Calling another Magician and then using Shark effect is another plus 1, whats the point of restricting Shark really since it is easily searchable with Factories. Also, buying 3 Extra Pack boxes for 3 Shark is better than buying a box of GENF to get all the Magician and Factory for Konami sales =D.

Mermails

Even though the deck is called Mermails, the cards that should be hit isn't any Mermail named. Limit Dragoon since its the search engine. I would hit Undine but then there won't be anymore Mind Crush moments.

Another card that should be hit would be Deepsea Diva since it is such a versatile card that can lead to so many plays.

Firefist/Fire King

Usually new themes won't be hit until at least another format (even Darkstrike had another Format). But if anything should be hit it is definitely Tenki and Bear. This 2 cards is splashed in like every deck that has anything to do with Beast Warriors or Fire themed.

Verz

I really don't think anything here will be hit. Sure first turn Ophion with a free protection is good, but its not exactly game breaker when it can just be removed by any of the above combos. Mermails can destroy it with just an Undine, Windup will come up with something creative, and the usual Tenki and Bear combo will get rid of it just as easily. Yes there are backrows, but every deck do play MST so there is no point trying to argue about it.

Any other interesting decks that I missed? (no Gishki deck pls lol)

Do you think they will hit things preemptively for the Divine Wind Dancer FTK? I mean, the book that will contain the banlist also comes with the Harpy Dancer card. Imagine their "Tips and strategy" will be like "Combine this with Divine Wind of Mist Valley for trololol".
