2011 Asia Championship: Finals Feature

Asian Championship Finals Match Feature!!! Read on for the match details!


Soh Jun Yuan - Singapore (Junk Doppel) vs
Noh Jea-Yeong - Korea (Six Samurai)

Game 1
Jun Yuan starts first. He sets 1 monster, 1 face down m/t and ends.

Jea-Yeong draws, sets 1 face down m/t and ends.

Jun Yuan sets another monster and ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong draws and just ends.

Jun Yuan stops the stand-off by flipping Ryko and targetting Jea-Yeong's only card. It turns out to be Cyclone which is chained to destroy Jun Yuan's set Limit Reverse. Jun Yuan flips his other monster which turns out to be Card Gunner. Next he summons Lonefire and uses its effect to special summon Spore in defense mode. Ryko and Card Gunner hits for 2100 damage and Jun Yuan ends his turn. (5900 vs 8000)

Jea-Yeong activates United and summons Hand of Six Samurai which attacks Card Gunner for 1200 damage, bringing the lifepoints to 5900 VS 6800. Jea-Yeong sets 3 facedown m/t and ends his turn.

Jun Yuan activates Monster Reborn and special summons Lonefire! With no response from Jea-Yeong, he activates Lonefire's effect and special summons Dandylion. Next, he synchro summons Spore, Dandylion and Ryko to summon Brionac. Jea-Yeong uses Bottomless Traphole on Brionac, and Jun Yuan summons 2 Dandylion tokens. Next he removes Killer Tomato (Milled by Card Gunner previously) for Spore's effect to summon it as 5 star. He synhros the 5 star Spore with the 2 Dandylion tokens and summons Black Rose Dragon! Jun Yuan activates its effect to clear the field, but Jea-Yeong uses Magatama to prevent the destruction. Jun Yuan sets a monster and 1 facedown m/t and ends his turn, where his facedown m/t is destroyed by Jea-Yeong's last face down, MST. The facedown turns out to be Trap Stun.

On to Jea-Yeong's turn, he normal summons Kageki and special summons Kagemusha, followed by using United to draw 2 cards. Hand's effect is activated and sacrifices Kageki to destroy the set monster which turns out to be Growup Bulb. Jea-Yeong synchro summons Shien and hits directly for 2500 damage. (5900 vs 4300) He sets another facedown m/t and ends his turn.

Jun Yuan summons Junk Synchron which revives Ryko. He then special summons Doppel Warrior through its effect and synchros for a 2nd Black Rose which gets hit by Divine Warning! (3900 vs 4300) The Judge rules that since the synchro summon failed, the Doppel tokens are not summoned. Jun Yuan special summons Chaos Sorcerer and removes Shien from the game. He then sets a facedown m/t then ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong sets a monster and a facedown m/t before ending his turn.

Jun Yuan draws, then sends Chaos Sorcerer to attack the facedown monster, and Jea-Yeong activates Mirror Force in response. Jun Yuan chains Solemn Judgement and the attack goes through! (3900 vs 2150). The facedown monster turned out to be Kageki. Jun Yuan then ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong sets a facedown m/t, and ends his turn.

Jun Yuan direct attacks with Chaos Sorcerer for 2300 damage (1600 vs 2150 and ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong normal summons Kagemusha, and special summons Grandmaster. They are synchro summoned for Black Rose Dragon which attacks Chaos Sorcerer and he ends his turn. (1600 vs 2050)

Jun Yuan activates Hurricane and clears the facedown m/t, then uses Black Hole to clear Black Rose Dragon! He then summons Debris Dragon which revives Card Gunner, and activates Grow Up Bulb's effect to special summon itself. Grow Up Bulb synchros with Card Gunner for Arms Aid and Jea-Yeong concedes. First game goes to Jun Yuan!

Game 2
Jea-Yeong starts strong with Kageki and Kagemusha for Shien. He sets a facedown m/t and ends his turn.

Jun Yuan sets a monster and a facedown m/t and ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong special summons Grandmaster, then activates Double Edge Sword Technique to revive Kageki and Kagemusha. Next he uses Reinforcement to search for Kizan, and Smoke Signal is activated to search for Hand. He summons Hand to destroy the facedown monster and Jun Yuan concedes, making a quick comeback for Jea-Yeong!

Game 3
Jun Yuan starts and Foolish Burial Dandylion to summon 2 tokens. He normal summons Spore and synchros for Formula Synchro to draw 1. He then uses Monster Reborns Dandylion to synchro summon for AOJ Catastor with another 2 tokens, sets 3 facedown m/t and ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong draws, then uses Cyclone which destroys Bottomless Traphole. He then special summons Cyber Dragon which is removed by Solemn Judgement! (8000 vs 4000). Jea-Yeong normal summons Grandmole and attempts to enter into Battle phase. Jun Yuan rejects, and uses his last facedown m/t, which is Call of Haunted for Formula Synchron. He then Accel Synchros for Trishula, which removes Grandmole, Cyber Dragon from grave and United from hand. With no options left, Jea-Yeong ends his turn.

Jun Yuan covers another m/t, then makes the first attack for the game with Trishula (5300 vs 4000) before ending his turn.

Jea-Yeong draws, and with nothing useful in hand, he ends his turn with no cards on field.

Jun Yuan direct attacks with Trishula again (2600 vs 4000) and ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong draws and activates his new Smoke Signal for Hand! He then activates United and normal summons Kageki, and before Hand can be special summoned, Jun Yuan chains with Chain Disappearance on Kageki! Kageki is removed and Hand is summoned in defense mode. Jea-Yeog draws 2 from United and activates Monster Reborn on AOJ Catastor! He uses AOJ Catastor to attack the last token, then sets 2 facedown m/t and ends.

Jun Yuan sends Trishula to attack Hand. He then normal summons Debris Dragon which revives Dandylion, and synchro summons for Black Rose Dragon. Black Rose's effect activates and the field is cleared, revealing Hurricane and Crossout as the face down. With 2 tokens protecting himself, Jun Yuan then activates Avarice to draw 2 and ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong sets a single m/t on the field and ends his turn.

Jun Yuan sets a monster and ends his turn.

Jea-Yeong normal summons Kizan, and attack's Jun Yuan's monster which turns out to be Ryko! Ryko's effect destroys his face down which turns out to be Double Edge! He couldnt activate Double Edge previously as he only had Hand in grave.

Jun Yuan special summons a level 4 Spore by removing Dandylion, and normal summons Sangan. He then synchros with the 2 tokens for Trishula (shuffled back by Avarice), clears Kizan and direct attacks for the win!

With that, Soh Jun Yuan, our Singaporean representative brings home the Asian Championship title!

  1. curious, is that the correct ruling for doppelwarrior and solemn warning/judgment? I thought the card states that if doppelwarrior is sent to the graveyard as a synchro material monster, regardless if the synchro summon itself is successful or not.

  2. The HK head judge ruled that it has to be a successful synchro summon and there were no way to argue about it.

  3. It looks like this is a junk and Debris doppel. Is it better than a quickdraw one? Which version of the Junk Doppel is more consistent

    when this card is send to grave for a synchro summon

    Doppel Warrior - このカードがシンクロ召喚の素材として墓地へ送られた場合、
    when this card is used as a synchro summon material and sent to grave

    Black Rose's effect activates and the field is cleared, revealing Hurricane and Genocide as the face down.

    what is the specific name of this m/t card?
