[Deck] MPB + Karakuri is combo-licious~

Some of you may have tried out Mecha Phantom Beasts decks and experimented with the deck. Though truth be said, the deck does not typically play very fast, and has some consistency issues. However, once you pair them up with Karakuris (of course right), the deck actually gets pretty fun! Check out the list below~

Decklist Below

The deck plays out pretty fun, basically it abuses MPB's token generation ability to spam the field together with Blue Impala and Saizan to make level 7 synchros and flood the field for otk. Some combos as follows.

Hand: Blue Impala, Coltwing, De-Synchro

Step 1: Normal Blue Impala, synchro with Coltwing in hand for Burei, sp Saizan
Step 2: De-Synchro Burei, sp Blue Impala and Coltwing, Coltwing sp 2 tokens
Step 3: Blue Impala + Coltwing for Power Tool Dragon, grab United We Stand and equip to it
Step 4: Saizan + 2 MPB tokens for Burei + Power Tool Mecha Dragon / double Burei

Damage: 2300 + 2400 (United We Stand) + 2600 + 2300 + 2400 (United We Stand via Power Tool Mecha Dragon) = 12,000 damage.

Though of course the deck doesnt only run on the above 3 cards, or it wouldnt be much of a deck if it was THAT inconsistent, so here are some basic combos

Grave: MPB Blue Impala, Hand: Crane Crane, any level 4 MPB

Step 1: Normal Crane Crane, pull back MPB Blue Impala
Step 2: Sychro Blue Impala with MPB in hand for Burei, sp Saizan
Step 3: Synchro Saizan and Crane Crane for Power Tool, grab United We Stand

Damage: 2300 + 2600 + 1600 = 6500. Pretty decent for a 2 card combo~

Some people maybe wondering why no Heavy Storm and Trishula, etc. Basically made this deck to be playable on YgoPro so just made it to be playable with both ban lists. Safe for Power Tool Mecha Dragon not being available in TCG yet (which is not essential to the deck), the deck is fully TCG playable. That being said, this is more of a proof of concept decklist, so its not exactly tuned to the meta.

Card Choices

Tempest + Debris

Tempest makes level 7 for easy Xyz, Wind fits well with the deck, while Debris can pull Crane Crane for Black Rose / Dragunity Knight - Trident

Dragunity Knight - Trident

Just for fun. Basically that slot is meant to be an additional Dragon synchro for Debris. Plus in the rare occasion, it can clear your Aerial Recharge for you to just clear something from your opponent's extra deck.

Power Tool Mecha Dragon

Shifting around United We Stand in a deck which gives you 2400 bump easily while drawing an additional card in the process? Sounds legit!

Karakuri Strategist Nishipachi

Double Burei into Nishipachi, Xyz for Dracossack and proceed to Trishula / Mist Wurm with tokens. Clears lots of stuff. Not to mention you need 1 just to sync with the level 4 MPBs.

Fiend's Sanctuary

Easiest card just to make tokens. Lets you pull off basic MPB combos fast for Megaraptor and Harrliard plays.

Transmodify + Top Runner

MPB Hamstrat flips, sp 2 tokens, Transmodify into Top Runner and proceed to flood. Nuff said.

Lack of defences

As mentioned previously, this is more of a proof of concept deck. Should probably squeeze in some Maxx Cs and other stuff, but nah, not as fun lol. Anyway MPBs can actually survive quite well through OTKs using stuff like Hamstrat and Aerial Recharge.

Rest of the deck is basically Mecha Phantom Beast stuff. Enjoy the short video of one of my replays below.

========================

This deck is of course not extremely consistent (Blue Impala with only Hamstrat in hand? No generic level 6 Machine synchros in this game yet...), but the deck is pretty fun and I enjoyed playing this deck. The deck actually has loads of possibilities, like playing it together with Scroll of Bewitchment for that Decisive Armor or even Ancient Sacred Wyvern. Hope you enjoy playing around with this deck~

Meanwhile in OCG land here, new ban list due to be announced soon. 2 months seriously feels way too short!

  1. Hey man, Im the guy with the blog before. I really like the incorporation of the power tools.

With that said, dont you think hamstrat is a bit slow?

    1. I agree, its slow, but Hamstrat works out well simply because it generates 2 tokens. If it survives, just summon a lv 4 tuner next turn and it becomes an OTK.

Even without a tuner, 2 tokens provides good protection while also allowing for the usual MPB plays, like reviving Megaraptor for search. And of course you can revive a Blue Impulse as well~

  3. OMG I thought this blog has been dead, BTW such a good strategy I love it, but the decklist has a mistake, you have mentioned Top Runner but you have a D.D. spell card instead. I really want to see another machine-earth decks. I have been testing Geargia Machina with Toy Soldier and is an amazing combo even without MK-III but its really useful having the new Geargia xyz. I'm looking forward your builds =3

    1. After the card's been sent to the graveyard by Transmodify it's no longer on the field, therefore it doesn't get the level increase anymore.

    1. Yup! Thats one of the moves i regularly do if I have Tempest and Blue Impala in hand.

Though not always recommended since you burn through your Saizans that way and you cant even attack (assuming u started first). Though of course if u are starting 2nd, proceed to OTK lol

    1. No problem~ Like i always say, no reason 2 people cant think of a deck at the same time. Was testing the deck for a period as well, just that it took me awhile to find time to post this up :)

I also tested Fortress (though not Redox), but there were way too many monsters in the deck. Main aim for my version is to flood with Bureis quickly anyway so didnt fancy using them in the end after testing.

    1. I have tested both, though not at the same time. Sounds like a good idea, though i would probably only play 1 Aerosguin.
