JOTL and Infernity

JOTL prints a few new cards that gives Infernity a boost.

First up, the hyped up card in the set.

Send 1 monster you control to the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck with the same Attribute and Type as the sent monster, but 1 Level higher. You can only activate 1 "Transtarn" per turn.

Gives the much needed speed boost for Infernity which was too slow to keep up with the Prophecy/Incarnate meta.

The whole point of this card is turning your LV 3 Dark/Fiends into Infernity Archfiend for all your Infernity searches which is what the deck has become.

- Infernity Necromancer
- Tourguide
- Trick Archfiend

What we need now is a LV 3 Dark/Fiend type fusion monster so Instant Fusion can be much more abuse-able.


Some other card to look at

Trick Archfiend
If this card is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect or by being destroyed by battle: You can add 1 "Archfiend" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Trick Archfiend". You can only use the effect of "Trick Archfiend" once per turn.

Another speed boost for Infernity. Searchable from Tourguide, which also coincidentally able to search Necromancer. Instant search from dropping it into the grave by the effect of Lavalval Chain, Foolish Burial, Armageddon Knight, Dark Grepher.

Some search targets that are useful for Infernity
- Infernity Archfiend (duh)
- Archfiend Roar
- Archfiend Palace, Labyrinth of Fiends


Moving along onto the next card

Archfiend Palace, Labyrinth of Fiends
Fiend-Type monsters you control gain 500 ATK. You can target 1 "Archfiend" monster you control; banish 1 Fiend-Type monster you control, except that target, then Special Summon 1 "Archfiend" monster with the same Level as that target from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. You can only use the effect of "Archfiend Palace - The Labyrinth of Fiends" once per turn.

If you play Infernity, you would know that sometimes you end up with just a Necromancer pulling Archfiend for a search and the combo ends there.

With the addition of Palace, you can banish that Necromancer for another Archfiend and another search. The best part is you can pull Archfiend from anywhere!

Not to mention that your Archfiend is now a respectable 2300 ATK, combined with all the Infernity Barriers that you search, life can be difficult for your opponent.


And lastly, my new favourite XYZ monster.

No 66, Master Key Beetle
2 Level 4 DARK monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 other card you control; while this card is face-up on the field, that target cannot be destroyed by card effects. If this card would be destroyed, you can send 1 of those targets to the Graveyard instead.

Not exactly a direct Infernity support, but its protection effect is what we are looking for. Protecting an ATK mode Necromancers while you set 3 Barriers is quite cool.

Also there are plenty of other dirty stuff that you can protect to make your deck somewhat antimeta-ish.

TLDR: Infernity so good now, but fuck Maxx C and Effect Veiler because everyone is playing Prophecy and Incarnate Dragons.

    I knew there had to be some archetypes that could profit from Trick Archfiend!

  6. Deck has too many monsters, and of those, it has too man LV3 monsters. Deck loses to Rai-Oh, banishment, Veiler, Samurai, Herald, Shock Master, and pretty much anything else if it doesn't go first and get a godhand.

      My point is this: Your deck is awful. It gets awful hands and loses to low-tier awfulness. The chances of it going off properly are awful. I'm certain that there are less awful card choices that could make this deck work, but I'm too angry at how awful this deck plays to find any.

      I think I've used "awful" enough times to get my point across, but let's do it one more time: If your deck loses to low-tier and non-tournament decks, then it's awful. And it loses with incredible frequency.

      No, I'm not playing it wrong. I know how to play Infernity. No, I'm not forgetting any of the combos. I even discovered one you likely haven't thought of (Beetle keeps Utopia from self-destructing). I've played this deck, and I'm of the opinion that most Exodia decks are better, and they all run five cards that are dead draws by themselves.

Your first point "Considering your deck is losing to stuff that typically loses in your meta, yeah, you should care what they play." isnt even valid because this was made to go vs Incarnate Dragons and Prophecy, not Macro Rabbit and Fire Fist. OCG and TCG is very different, and it's time someone points that out to you.

      And lol, why would anyone play decks that will lose to the top tier deck, too much money?

    11. Three reasons they would play it. 1) Money issues, so they go with the next best thing. 2) It's not fun for them/it doesn't fit their playing style. 3) They honestly believe they can drive the deck home (and most of those that believe it are usually right up until the last few rounds).

      Your deck is too anti-meta and doesn't have enough room to focus on its own goals. It's too slow and too cumbersome to survive even against what it's supposed to beat. If you're gonna go anti-meta, go all the way and run Rock Stun or something else boring like that.

      In short, quit being such a coward and make your deck do its thing instead of worrying about disrupting your opponent. You'll disrupt them just fine by punching them in the face with four Xyz Monsters and an Infernity Archfiend. Let's see them come back from 10K damage.

    12. I dont see anyone coming back from 3 barrier/break with a shock master on the field.

      And its infernity, there is not just one way of playing it. I like to play it this way, deal with it =D

  7. I know what u are trying to say but u will never see a deck wins everything, because every deck needs a best time to appear and win in a tornument.
    there was a deck "Electrum Fusion Gate OTK" won as a 4th place in one of the tornuments because no one expected that deck to appear and because of less people palying MSTs and Veiler in this tornument.
    The point here u might say that this deck loses much in a friendly duel but it may prevail in one perfect-time tornument.

  9. The stupid thing with trick archfiende if u transtun him he miss timing and if utourguid and detach for some eff he miss timing to i am not sure about zenmains if u detach trick for his eff to stay on field may work. Well archfiend roar will work :)

  10. Hey baha been reading the posts and i have to admit i made your deck card for card to test. I've been testing alot and in ocg this deck is insane its insanely good and very consistant.ppl can rag all they want that it can't beat incarnate,verz,ff,or proph but im telling them it definately can easily.The hard part with this deck is knowing what to do there are so many fucking playing its ridiculous at times. on the tcg side my meta i haven't tested cause jotl isnt out but ive been winning tourneys and topping regionals without even chain merm,ff can't keep up if u play it if only there was room to add avenger/mirage and keep the consistancy of the deck and have xtra deck space but hey we can't have everything if we could trick would work off costs lol.
