Tourney @ Cardmaster Dhoby Ghaut 14 July

Deck used: Arrive Dark
Participants: 20++ (not sure how many lol)
Format: 4 Round swiss + Top 8

Round 1: Vs Verz Laggia
1: He set only backrows which I cleared with MST and Nightshot. OTK with Arrive, Grepher, Miracle Fusion.
2: He started with a Raioh which I used Alius to clear. After that I used up my search cards and OTK him the following turns with Void Ogre, Laval Chain and Blade Armor Ninja

Round 2: Vs Chaos Dragon
1: I was sure I could OTK. I had Grepher, Stratos, Dark End Dragon and a Miracle in hand. I used Dark End and send his face down card which turned out to be a Sangan instead of a Ryko. He searched for Veiler and my OTK failed lolol.
2: I special summoned back Plaguespreader and he chained Maxx C. I was really lazy to think anymore and just went for it netting him at least 6 cards lol. Yeah needless to say it was a stupid move and I scrubbed shortly.

Round 3: Vs Chaos Dragon
1: Not this shit again. But I had better hand this time and made a turn 1 Void Ogre with some back rows. Negated a few key spells and defended with Compulsory Evacuation Device.
2: Terrible hand and got rushed by Darkflare, Pulsar and REDMD.
3: Made Void Ogre again and pretty much the same as game 1.

Round 4: Vs Hero Beat

Top 8: Vs TG Agent Angels
1: I failed to OTK but I was leading. Things change when he Summon BLS =(
2: Early Void Ogre and Shining beatdown.
3: He started with 3 set card and Card Car D. I opened with Storm which he negated with Solemn. I activated Arrive next and he responded with Veiler on my Stratos. I used Future Fusion and he chained with MST. I normal summoned Grepher and made Excalibur since he was left with 4000 and a set card and it was a Solemn Warning. With 2000 left, I used my last card in hand which was E Call and got Bubbleman to draw 2. I drew Alius and a Miracle Fusion.

Top 4: Vs Laval

So I took the new Water SD and cash again.


Some of you maybe wondering, wtf is Arrive Dark?

It's just a twist on the Arrive Hero Beat by adding some dark monsters giving access to other random monsters like Dark End Dragon and Void Ogre Dragon.

  1. i think i like this build better then the original. gives more opening plays. i'm going to try it. as good as draw whoring is with cardcar, does it not slow you down?

    1. Card Car D is amazing, and if you don't need it just put it back with Plaguespreader.

    2. Your right, it does help. Here in tcg land we don't have lavalval chain, would you say that's a important xyz monster in extra?

  4. Hmmm usually what you do when your hand stuck with Malicious and with Grepher?
    I was quite emo when I have OTK hand and there's stucking with a Malicious

  5. Not every hand is perfect.

    Even the best top tier deck has their own version of bad hand.

    So you just got to play it out and see what you can do with your current hand.

  6. How come Utopia (and Utopia Ray) didn't make the cut in this version?

    1. It was kinda last minute deck building lol.

      After testing it, I do need at least a Utopia and probably a Maestroke.

      Will probably cut Pearl and Tornado.

    2. What do think about Hope for Escape in the ArriveHero Deck?

    3. The whole purpose of an Arrive type deck is to One turn kill.

      You dont want next turn, you want them dead, like now.

  7. Is super polymerization a good card to use in this deck?
