Alright guys, since the last rulings post I made for EXCV seemed to quite useful to alot of people so I am doing them again for Generation Force. here are the various card rulings from GNEF, you can go read them up yourself from here for those who can read Japanese. As before, I basically listed out most of the rulings which are important here, for card effects go to Shriek to check them out yourself. Click on Read More!
Extra disclaimer: The translations done here are accurate as of 1 May 2011. Specially waited 2 weeks before posting up this so they should be accurate. However, if there are any updates to the rulings, feel free to update in the comments area. Just note that it wasnt an error in my translations as some people tried to make it seem so the last time....
GaGaGa Magician
- Even if Skill Drain is on the field, it still cannot be used for synchro
- If Phantom of Chaos copies GaGaGa Magician's effect, Phantom of Chaos can be used for synchro summon
- If you use its effect to become Level 8, then Level Stealer uses 1 level from it to become level 7, after the end phase it becomes level 3
- You cannot activate its effect to declare level 4, as it is already level 4
GoGoGo Golem
- If this card is set and attacked, it can still activate its effect to prevent being destroyed by battle once per turn
Goblindbergh
- In the Chain Block, the special summon happens first, then the turning to defense effect happens after that
- Therefore if you special summon monsters like E-Hero Stratos, Stratos's effect cannot take place as the timing to activate is missed
- If Light of Intervention is on the field, and you summon this monster in defense mode, and use its effect to special summon E-Hero Stratos, its effect to turn to defense cannot take place (As it is already in defense), and Stratos's effect can take place
Bugman X/Y/Z
- If Bugman X activates its effect and an effect is chained that destroys the Bugman Y on the field, the effect to special summon Bugman Z will not go through
- The same applies for the other counter parts
Super Bugman
- You can special summon this monster from grave after it has been legally initially special summoned by its effect (Similar to Chaos Sorcerer)
- If this card is on the field and Scar Red Nova Dragon is synchro summoned (with 2 tuners in grave), Scar Red Nova Dragon's final stats are 3000 attack, 4500 defense (Similar for Copycat, whatever it copies will have its stats reversed afterwards)
- If Rush Recklessly is used on E-Hero Dark Brightman (Stats become 2700/1000), and Super Bugman is summoned, Dark Brightman's stats become 1000/2700, and 1000/2000 after the end of the turn
- If Sangan's stats are 600/1000 while Super Bugman is on the field, and Gale's effect is used on Sangan to make it 300/500, then Super Bugman leaves the field afterwards, Sangan's stats become 500/300
Mainspring Magician
- Its effect cannot be activated during the damage step
- Its effect can be activated after the other Mainspring monster's effect has been resolved
- If there are multiple Magician's on the field, you can activate all their effects at the same time when 1 other Mainspring monster's effect activates
Mainspring Juggler
- When this card would be destroyed by battle, you can activate it's effect to destroy the other monster
- If this card attacks and will be destroying the monster by battle, it cannot activate it's effect to destroy it by its effect instead
Fly-Fang
- Its trample effect is continous and its removal effect is a trigger effect
- Its effect to remove itself does not go into chain block
- If it is flipped face down in chain to its effect to remove itself, it will still be removed from game and return to the field in face down defense mode during the next standby phase
Sky Oni-Eating Ray
- Works exactly similar to Fly-Fang, read above
- If its attack is negated by a card like Magic Cylinder, it cannot activate it's effect to remove itself
Air Orca
- Removal effects similar to Fly-Fang
- Its removal occurs after the targetted card is destroyed
- If the targetted card is no longer on the field when resolving the effect, it does not remove itself
Wing Turtoise
- Its effect to special summon itself cannot be activated during the damage step
- You can only special summon 1 copy of it when the legal monster is removed from the field
- If this card is in the hand when you activate the effect, and it is sent to grave in response (E.g. Mind Crush), you cannot special summon that same card from the grave instead
Space-Time Police
- If the selected card is turned face down at resolution, the card is not removed
- The effect to return the set selected card to the field enters chain block
- If the selected card is a monster, it can only be returned in face down defense, and not face down attack mode
- If Dark Simorgh is on the field when Space-Time Police leaves the field, the removed card does not return to the field and stays removed instead
- When the selected monster is set back to the field when Space-Time Police leaves the field, it is considered a special summon and you cannot flip it face up during that turn, as it was just summoned
- When the selected magic/trap is set back to the field when Space-Time Police leaves the field, you cannot flip it face up during that turn, even if it is a permanent magic card
- The postion on the field that the selected card returns set to the field is decided by the player activating the Space-Time Police's effect
Time Escaper
- If the selected monster is flipped face down in response to Time Escaper's effect, the selected monster is still removed, and returns in face down defense mode during the next standby phase
- The effect of the selected monster returning to the field does not use the Chain Block
Gusta Codor
- If it attacks a monster with similar attack and dies together, its effect is not activated
Summoner Sembel
- If it activates its effect and Star Changer is chained to its effect and makes it a different level, and you do not have a monster with the appropriate level to summon, your opponent may look at your hand to confirm it
Gear Gearano
- Grave effects of the monster it summons can still take place
Wielder of the Dragon Flame Sword
- Its effect is a trigger effect
- The monster that has its level increased stays increased as long as it is face-up
- Its effect does not target the summoned monster
- If the summoned monster is no longer on the field when its effect is being resolved, its attack does not increase
- If this monster is no longer on the field when the effect is being resolved, the summoned monster STILL has its level increased by 1
Blue Nosferatu
- You may special summon the undead monster that was the exceed material sent to grave from the exceed monster, as long as you had a legal undead monster in the grave previously to activate its effect
Soul Convoy
- It can be special summoned from grave if it was initially legally special summoned (Similar to Chaos Sorcerer)
Real Crusader (Giant list of FAQ... Will only list what is important)
- You may use this effect to destroy a special summoned monster that was summoned through an effect (E.g. Monster Reborn), even if it was special summoned in the middle of a chain block (E.g. Cyclone, chain Call of Haunted for Jinzo) In that situation, the chain block is fully resolved before Real Crusader's effect is activated
- If Super Polymerization is used to summon a level 5 and above fusion monster, you can use Real Crusader to destroy the monster, as it is not considered to be chained to the effect of Super Polymerization
- You may activate this effect during the damage step
- Its effect does not target
- If this card is on the field, and your opponent uses Monster Reborn for Monster A, then Call of Haunted for Monster B, when the chain resolves, this card is released to destroy Monster B only
- If you use Monster Reborn for Real Crusader, and your opponent chains Call of Haunted for a level 5 monster, you cannot use Real Crusader's effect when the chain block is resolved, as Real Crusader is not on the field when the level 5 monster is summoned
- If your opponent uses Monster Reborn for a level 5 monster, and you chain Call of Haunted for Real Crusader, at the end of the chain block, you can use Real Crusader's effect to destroy the level 5 monster
- If the level 5 monster is not face up on the field when its effect is being resolved, the level 5 monster is not destroyed
Mira, Magician of Eternity
- Even if the opponent does not have a set card when you summon Mira, its effect still activates and enters chain block
- If Skill Drain is on the field and Mira is summoned, you still may not activate a card is response to Mira's effect
- Its effect targets
- If Mira targets a Torrential Tribute / Bottomless Traphole, then uses Cyclone on that same card, the opponent may chain Torrential Tribute / Bottomless Traphole in return
- Effects like Ryko are not activated as Mira's effect is only to confirm the set card
No 17-Revise Dragon
- If Cross Porter is sent to grave while it was an exceed material for Revise Dragon, its effect cannot be activate as the timing is missed. (Final thing that happens is Revise Dragon's attack pump. Same would happen for Jinzo Returner, etc)
Underwater Warship Aero Ship
- The removal of Exceed material is a cost
No 34-Terrabyte
- The return of the monster to the opponent does not use the chain block
- If the selected monster is turned face down in response to Terrabyte's effect, the monster's control is still switched, and still returned to the opponent during the end phase
Spring Armor Mainspring Meister
- The turning of the selected monster face up during the end phase does not use the chain block
- If Book of Moon is chained to the targeted monster, that monster will not get turned face up during the end phase. For it to turn face up, it has to also be turned face down by Meister's effect
Empty Space Sea Serpent Levaiel
- Its effect targets
- Even if Macrocosmos is on the field, you can still activate its effect and special summon the monster that you removed for Lavaiel's effect if it is legal
Protector of the Founders, Tyrus
- Its effect targets
- You can select which exceed material to remove
- If its attack is negated by a card such as Magic Cylinder, its effect does not activate

- If Skill Drain is on the field, Tyrus does not need to remove an Exceed Material at the end of the turn
- If this card is affected by Forbidden Chalice, you do not need to remove an Exceed Material during the end phase
- If you chain Book of Moon to its effect to remove an Exceed Material, the Exceed Material is still removed
- If this card's control is taken by the opponent by Enemy Controller, it still removes the Exceed Material during the opponent's end phase
- Even if there is no more Exceed Material on Tyrus, its effect to remove the Exceed Material still activates and enters Chain Block
Wonder Wand
- Sending the monster to grave is a cost
Double Up Chance
- If there is a burn effect after the attack is negated, such as Magic Cylinder or Poseidon wave, you can still activate Double Up Chance, as the burn effect occurs at the same time the attack is negated
- You may use it on an opponent's monster
- The attack boost only lasts during the damage step only
- If an attack is negated, you can activate multiple copies of Double Up Chance. However, their combined effects are similar to only 1 copy of Double Up Chance
- You may use Double Up Chance when Cyber Ogre's effect is activated to negate the attack, as the attack pump for Cyber Ogre happens at the same time
- You cannot use this effect against Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, as the setting of it is after the attack is negated, missing the timing to activate Double Up Chance
Bug Load
- Both players must have a legal target on the field to activate
- You may activate this card while your opponent has no cards in hand
- You cannot activate this card if you do not have a monster that you can summon in hand

Phew, finally done, honestly took me over 2-3 hours to finish this, too many cards had super long FAQs. Hope this helps everyone, and remember, this is accurate as of 1st May, so I do not take any responsibility for changes made after that~
hi! quickening of flame swirl's faq answer says that it cannot be activated during the damage step, not main phase! XD
ReplyDeletedo correct if I'm wrong though! =D
Editted my typo, meant damage step but some how came out as main phase, lol. The effects of working on a blog post for 3 hours I guess.
ReplyDeletehaha! no probs! thank you for the effort you put in actually! =D
ReplyDeletewhy superbugman need similar to chaos sorcerer cuz i see sorcerer say can only be sp but bugman says can be sp so doesn't that mean it can be summon by other means example i mill with card trooper and limit reverse it can?
ReplyDeleteI wouldnt take the translations from Wikia as a reference, since that can be done by anyone, so looking at phrasing like that wouldnt work, unless its the official phrasing for TCG.
ReplyDeleteAs of now went to recheck, still no change, its summoning conditions are similar to Chaos Sorcerer
ok ty
ReplyDeletedoes the effect of gogogo golem which allows it to activate effect when it is set apply to all monster with the effect of not being destroyed by battle. (when they are set)
ReplyDeleteI have a doubt: I activate Dark Hole and chain Gravel Cane. Can I target my own Dark Hole?
ReplyDeleteMy doubt is based on Mystical Space Typhoon, Dust Tornado and Emergency Provision effects.
