Deformer makes Top 32!

Well, top 32 in Kansai Region that is. As I would expect though, its filled with alot more traps then I would like, though that would probably the best way to play the deformer deck. Some control in the deck, and the deformer slow field building strategy works pretty well. Interested to read more? Check out the decklist below

CDL Duel Kingdom Pt 2

Alright guys, after Baha's challenge finally my turn to do the challenge. Went down last Sunday to play, mainly cause I just wanted to try my new deck, Deformers! And how did it turn out? Well, take a look!

Deck Used: Deformer Direct Deck (DDD!)

Round 1 - GB Deck (James) XX
Ugh, could not control at all, my hand was filled with small monsters, I did not draw my defensive traps, and his version had the GB fish that can kill off my defense mode Bodon, mobilephone kept summoning nothing out, add in a few chariot looping, zzz...

Round 2 - Cosmos Deck (Jess) OXO
Finally drew abit better, Jess got pretty shocked at the deck. He could not do anything about the Bodon and Radio when they were in defense mode except to waste monster removal on them. I even had D-Cord on the field, used it to destroy his defense traps and he went huh? After he ran out (Earth smash, fissure, mercenary troops), used deformer bodon, deformer field, and gadet driver to lock him down. Even a 100atk calculator had 2100 attack, LOL, my radio and radio cassette were even bigger

Round 3 - Undead Synchro (Ding Jun) XOO
First round got rushed. 2nd round I managed to lock down using 2 gadget drivers and 1 curse of anubis, so he just kept eating direct attacks. Had no deformer field or they would have gotten PRETTY big. 3rd round managed an OTK with Deformer Field + Radio + Bodon + Unity + limit break. My hand had nothing left but 2 gadget drivers, so figured if he mirror forced, I could just turn defense mode and slowly keep poking. In the end he had thunderbreak but had decided not to use it to control me the next turn. Oh well, LOL. I attacked too slowly the 2nd round so he did not expect a sudden rush

Round 4 - Plant Synchro (Yi Siang) XOX
1st round did a mistake, I had bodon and radio cassette and limit break while he had a brionac I believe. Could have direct attacked with radio cassette for win as he had only 4700lp left, but I forgot to ask and ended turn since I had no gadget driver or curse of anubis. Next turn he called out red daemon, cleared the defense monsters and you know the rest. 2nd round managed to rush him, I had 5 counters on deformer field thanks to curse of anubis and gadget driver. 3rd round got 2 DAD and 1 brionac. Hey, so whats new?

All in all, not bad, if not for the mistake I would have won 3 out of 4 rounds. Score not enough to get to finals, but hey, deformers could have won 3 out of 4, and I was not done testing the deck some more. Anywayz, here are a few basic combo pieces of the deck to move your brain cells

Deformer field + Gadget driver/curse of anubis + Bodon
If bodon is on the field, gadget driver is enough to make a wall filled with defenses, since almost all my monsters are deformers. Just loop a direct attack, use gadget driver to turn all to defense, next turn turn back to attack mode and direct attack, rinse and repeat. With deformer field, and the usual 2-3 deformers on the field, you can easily get 4 counters on deformer field in a single turn. 1200 attack to 3 deformers that can direct attack? Extra 3600 dmg, cool stuff

Standard opening move - Defense mode bodon/radio. Next turn use deformer field summon mobilephone, get a radio out, all direct attack, 1600 + 1200 + 2100 = 4900atk, cool stuff. Use a gadget driver during opponent turn, next turn repeat again, 2 turn kill, hey.

Anyway, thats it for this deck for the moment. If I have the time, may go down for another CDL after tuning up the deformer deck. And then again, maybe not. Oh well, we shall see how it goes. Till then, tah tah

Short updates on the germany world champ!

Alright people, here's abit of an update from what I can understand, which is limited cause the language of the site is mainly in german. If got typo or understanding error dont mind, the german doesnt help, and im typing this 3.30am in the morning...

After 5 rounds of standings, Baha is standing at 19 out of 22nd place, with 1 round win against Australian rep, Hahn (AUS), Richard. Well, 1 win out of 5? Thats still better then our Malaysian neighbour i guess, 0 out of 5 win. (Not to look down on them of course)

Well, at the moment from what I see, Baha at least walks home with a Chimera master of the beasts promo card. Possibly if have time he will join the sneak preview for the duelist genesis? Well, he should still walk away with much better prizes then from our Singapore tournament thats for sure.

Top deck of the day is a control deck, with over 20 traps. So sad, when i first read the top, it wrote there, innovative deck using the Fusilier dragon aka, Gunner Dragon. Then i check deck list, ends up its just a control deck with skill drain, therefore use Fusilier as a 2800 monster. Zzzz. Oh wellz.

Then they have a DS world champ 2008 tomorrow. Sad, wonder why we didnt have someone to go for that one. Oh wellz.... Anyway, if there are any German savvy guys around, heres the website for you guys. Japanese lang guys like me cannot understand shit siah

Worse game ever????

Just a small update cause I seriously couldnt let this past siahz. I was reading through metagame's latest article for their tournament when I came across this match for a LADD versus a bad simochi burn deck. Read it for yourself.

I see misplay after misplay until I buey tahan. Interesting deck yes, but playing skill??? Like zzzz. Don't even say that, the LADD user also makes one of the biggest mistakes possible by that stupid heavy storm. And then you guys remember when I went to USA I met this guy who asked me if I had any ruling questions and I could ask him. As I read through the second match, I seriously began to doubt it...... Read it CAREFULLY and see if you notice a serious mistake NOBODY noticed. Meaning, the players, the people surrounding, the judges, and even the darn metagame publisher.

Got it? Don't even know why Im noting so many weird things recently. Look closely at upstart goblin. If you note it carefully, why the hell is it dealing 1k damage??? Yes, bad simochi is on the field im not blind, but look again carefully. The LADD player has a royal palace on the field!!! So that quite means that not only he would not have taken damage, but added life instead. So with the final 3 cards played, he will still have 2k life left lor!!! Sigh, but what to do.... I see the SKILL involved in this match I also abit zzz alr. Oh well, till next time kiddies.

He summoned Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, activated Fissure, and brought Light and Darkness Dragon down to 1800 ATK. Smashing Ground reduced it to 1300 ATK, and Kycoo attacked! T lost Torrential Tribute and Pulling the Rug from the field, while Kycoo stripped his graveyard of Cyber Dragon and Disk commander — he was forced to special summon Destiny Hero – Malicious in defense mode.

Structure decks & World Championships 2007

Hello, ladies (if there are any) and germs. Yeah, we have been abit slack, but there hasnt been that much interesting stuff coming up previously, so...... Anyway, just a slight bit of updates on the latest releases in the UDE side.

I'm sure some of you guys have noticed the latest releases with the 2 new structure decks for Jaden Yuki and Syrus Truesdale. But most of you guys probably don't really know what's inside since no deck list is printed on the box. Nope, I will not make a deck list of the whole set as there are tons of crap cards inside which have 0 reason to be there so I shall not bother. But, just a slight mention of the foils inside.

Deck lists are still being updated I believe, and the finals are not included in the report yet, blah blah, but from what I see, champion is a guy from South America, Chile, using a pretty standard Monarch deck with gravekeeper spy, soul exchange. If there is gonna be a good guess for the ban list, you can probably look at the deck lists here. Some how the guys from Japan didn't even make top 4, with only 1 out of 4 in top 8. But hey, they can't use their favourite LADD, Gorz, etc etc, so......

Edit: Hey, looks like the finals report and the deck lists have been updated for top 8. From what I can see with my stamped eye, its 6 monarchs, 1 stall burn, and 1 gadget deck. Guess Raizas are gonna get flushed down the drain soon, so guys with them better sell them pronto.

Looking back for Jurong Tournament

Ok I shall cut short all the rubbish intro and go straight into the looking back. Warning, there's really nothing much of notable play since its mostly Summon Airman and Search for Ocean, so yah I'll just put down notable/funny stuff. Btw Deck list can be found directly below this post.

Match 1 - Vs Unknown (sorry I forgot the name)

Used Bottomless against my Airman which I protected with My Body as a Shield!!
And yah Just rushed for both rounds.

Match 2 - Vs DSummon (oh noes its the ass!)

Lost the first round due to me guessing wrongly on the Ming Tui Li which was 7 and he Metamorphosis a Cyber Ogre 2 + Megamorph>, bitch!
Side decked Mask of Restrict and Banisher of Radiance to counter Monster Gate and Card Gunner.
Activated my Mask in response to his Snatch Steal hohoho, followed by Solemn Judgement on his Hurricane and rush his ass. Pretty much the same thing for final game.

Match 3 - Vs GreatGuy (I hate LaDD decks T_T)

Solemn Judgement-ed his Light and Darkness Dragon summon since I had all magic in hand and no way to kill it. He drew and drew and drew form all the Destiny Draw and Disk Guy. He left his Defend Guy up and I ahd Ocean + Sealing Sword and managed to earn some card back and rush back.
I forgot whether it was the first or the 2nd game but I covered 5 m/t, 2 of them was Solemn Judgement lol.

Match 4 - Vs Tony (aka Gay dog!!!)

I got beaten by Double guy and DDV and rubbish for the first game.
Third game was the nicest! I thought my hand was really horrible.
He used torrential when I summoned Airman and declare destroy M/T, I use Solemn Judgement!
And then the next turn he sacrifice 2 monsters to summon LaDD!! I Solemn-ed that too!! My life was really low now, like 750 =(
I thought "got chance!!!"
Then he opened Destruction Ring on my Airman, I opened my 3rd Solemn Judgement LOL!!!!

Match 5 - Vs Unknown (hi I'm sorry I forgot your name too)

This is probably the most stressful fight. The first round it was quite depressing with shocker there and my traps were all non functional. Somehow managed to kill it and won.
Second round on the other hand, I thought I really die liao. He had Mobius, Shocker, Drillroid. I had 2 Hydrogeddon, Airman and a face down The Heat.He killed everything except my Airman. My face down card was Emergency Call and Sakuretsu. I top deck Controller hohoho. Use Airman whack Drillroid, Controller sac Airman take Shocker and whack Mobius! Clear field!
Then few turns later my Airman died due to Snipe Stalker and I had Ocean Left, then he flip summoned D Girl and whack whack. At this point I had only 700 LP left. I was cursing on why I didn't normal summon The Heat on my previous turn coz I had a face down Controller. So yeah I did the normal thing of letting my Ocean die with Stalker and used controller to turn D girl. I top deck into Solemn. Used my Heat and whack D girl and he out. Then I top deck Vortex (i have no hand btw) But my face down E was still around!! so I used it and got my last Ocean. Managed to recur back Airman and win since I had Solemn >=D

Top 8 Match 1 - Vs Himura (banana u sux!)

First round was really struggling as he kept camping with his Marshmallow and Banisher there, there was really nothing I could do. Then when I finally cleared his field, at the last moment, he Metamorped a Dragon Warrior and Killed my Ocean. I top deck intro Reinforcement. At this point, I think I couldnt think properly liao, I had few hundred left LP. My covered card is Shrink, which couldnt affect the cb Warrior. Then my D girl also die liao. Then I just died... Then after that I realise i still have The Heat in my deck. I had Airman on my field so yeah, it would've been big enough to die together with Dragon Warrior!!! Argh, noobish mistake =(
2nd round was pretty much rape, my hand was like cb...

Note: At this point of time I sian liao, no chance to win DDV nb!!

Top 8 Match 2 - Vs Yong Xiang (not the ahbeng Yong Siang =X)

He was Playing Kuribo + SkyLord. I just chiong liao, no mood. Won Somehow lol
Second Round I Side Kaikuu and Radiance. He managed to summon Norreras and used its effect. I chained with bottomless and Matter Transfer Device on my Airman. He drae Early Burial!! WHere is there balance! But yah I survived and kept my Ocean alive and the usual things happened! Victory! =D

Top 8 Match 3 - Vs GreatGuy (yet again!)

Well it was the same thing, I forgot wat happened for first match.
Second match, I managed to lock him with Kaikuu and Mask of Restrict on the field and I covered Solemn. He cannot sacrifice anything, cannot remove Diabolic (well I out liao anyways together with frog) and yah, his hand actually super god like lol. There was Destiny Draw, LaDD and all the usual CB cards! Phew!

Final Standing: 5th =(

Damn you banana, I only lost to you! This tells us all a story.

In the end I got Pot of Avarice from the prize pool and my consolation was Gilford the Lightning =(

Yu-Gi-Oh! Asian Championship 2007 Singapore (25/03/2007) [Part 3]

Elimination Round 1: Gadgets (possibly with Overload) [X O O]

1: Quite a horrible hand I have with no monsters at all except for a Frog which I searched via Foolish. Luckily I topped into a Gorz later on which continued to block all the gadgets for abit. But still died from Lightning Vortex.
2: Side in cards to convert to Destiny Beat and I rushed easily with Doom and Creature swap.
3: He started with a Cyber Phoenix and I just camp with Frog. He then summoned Yellow Gadget and hit me. Used Electric worm to take control of Cyber Phoenix and sacrifice summoned RaiDa (at this point in time I can hear claps, thank you thank you lol) Somehow he managed to kill it easy =( Around mid game I didn't wanna rush with both my Reaper and Zaroog fearing that he might top deck into Overload which would spell instant KO. Being in the Elimination round, one must play conservatively =D He top deck Messenger of Peace, I top deck Mobius (even though Zaroog can actually hit anyway) and hit for the game.

Swiss Round 1: DSummon (Gunner Gadgets) [O X O]

1: Argh my worst nightmare!! For some reason, I feel that it is payback and I will lose since I was trashing his beta deck the day before. Maybe the Dueling Gods were watching and wants DS dead. My starting hand was Confiscation, Frog, Foolish Burial and 2 RaiDa. It was an easy and smelly win =D
2: Removed MoBC and rubbish to make way for Electric Worm and more Controllers. But didnt draw any and died.
3: More side decking, this time all the way Destiny Beat lol. Funny thing that happened was him summoning Cypher Scouter. I top decked into Reinforcement, search for Airman and Swap-ed with the Scouter lol. Resulting in nice pain for DS. Well anyways I only remember my finishing move was Controller + Brain Control + lots of monsters everything rushing for an OTK. Cheers! I didn't die!

Swiss Round 2: Unknown (Warrior rush?) [O O]

1: A very nice friendly guy. He started by covering Command Knight. As for me, more bad hands here and there. After much stalling I manage to get my RaiDa out and it was control from there.
2: Only remember he had an attack mode Command Knight and a Wildman and he declared attack with it to my Airman. I opened Mirror Force which killed the Command Knight and Wildman became small and died lol.

Swiss Round 3: Nian Jie (RFG RaiDa and stuff) [O O]

1: Quite nervous fighting him since the last time I played with him, he was removing my Gem Beast here and there. And RFG decks are bad! Bad for me! Can't exactly remember what happened but I won the first round.
2: I got the lead when I summoned MoBC and removed his frog followed by a Mole loop but the magician died shortly leaving my only a frog and the mole lol. later on my Frog also joined the out of game pile and he summoned his RaiDa . With some chaining here and there I managed to get rid of it and won the game. Phew.

Swiss Round 4: Alex (Gadgets) [X O X]

1: Stupid gadgets are owning, cant really stop them and I died.
2: Changed to Destiny Beat again and won with all the rushing. Stupid Alex so evil, side deck Cosmos against me, luckily I changed to Destiny Beat. >=D
3: Bah more bad hand, Only know when I died I had 2 Destiny Draw and I top deck into RaiDa (and it was the only one that I didn't sub out!) orz

Swiss Round 5: Unknown (Burn) [O O]

1: He started by using Hell Fire (burn 1000 and eat 500) Covered 3 cards and Played 2 Motion Wave Cannon (wtf!) Luckily I top decked into Foolish Burial and I threw out Diabolic, used its effect and sacrifice for Mobius destroying both cannons. quite lucky ah... >=D And then next turn I summoned RaiDa. And I won due to a few direct attacks made by Raida. At this point my opponent were cursing a little that he didn't understand the effect of RaiDa. Well he should've asked the judge if he wasnt sure.
2: bla bla bla bla. He had a "Anti-sac Mask" and a face down trap and monster. I used Airman effect and chose the m/t destruction effect even though I had no other HERO in play. I asked if he wanna chain and he went all confused because he thought Airman can destroy something. And then calling of the judges and everything, all I did was ask if he wanna chain. when he doesnt wanna chain, I chained Call which summoned back Dash Guy and by the time dash guy hit play it was too late for him to chain since it was resolution. Destroyed his mask, attacked with both. Sac-ed Raida next turn FTW!

Top 8 Match 1 (Quarter Final): Alex (Gadgets) not again! [X O O]

1: Lost again... bah
2: The same side deck again, and win again haha
3: His gadget rammed into my Zaroog and I dropped his Heavy Storm. He didnt have any defensive cards and I jsut ram all the way with Gorz and 2 Assailant. Yes!! Alex died!!

Top 8 Match 2 (Semi Final): Jimmy (mirror) [X X]

1: He was telling my how he really wanted to go Taiwan and asked me to let him win lol. Even though I said see first, actually want to kill him... But my.... hand.... was.... godly......
2: Subbed to Destiny Beat again, wanted to kill him and then I go to finals instead. Heh, but gods dont allow me and I got another stupid hand... Fated...

Top 8 Match 3 (3rd/4th placing): Eddie (mirror) [O O]

1: Well since its not exactly finals, and it was someone that I know I was quite relaxed le. Lots of talking crap and joking and laughing and scolding of "your mom" here and there through out the match... Cant remember first round.
2: Only remember the long chain. I had RaiDa and he had Spirit Reaper. I started the chain with Reinforcement -> RaiDa effect activate -> Eddie chain Destruction Ring on my RaiDa -> I chain Destruction Ring on Reaper -> He chain DDV sacing away the Reaper. After some long confusing resolution, I special summoned back Dash guy from RaiDa effect and summoned Airman (from reinforcement) Rush rush rush, followed by another RaiDa from me FTW!
